Baby most of the time we Christen babies - but we are happy to talk about Christening older children and adults as well |
 We
love to Christen your children. As far as possible we try to accommodate your
date and time, but we are limited in what we can offer - it’s the usual problem
of scarcity of clergy! Our preferred time is 11 a.m. on the first or
third Sunday in the monthChristening is an important occasion at which we welcome your child into the fellowship of the church so we always have some of St Mary's congregation present to make you feel welcome. On most occasions it is possible to have an organist for some hymns or songs if you wish. We will give your child a large candle to remind you all of the promises you’ve made and a certificate to show that he or she had been properly baptised. There is no charge for Christening, but if you would like music there will be a charge for the organist. The important thing is to contact the Rector on 01472 840029 as soon as possible so that we can make arrangements that suit us all. |
